High-traffic media-sites, ZOO and heat fly on Plone

Upfront Systems recently got the opportunity to develop high-traffic media sites on Plone.

One of these is the website of the weekly magazine ZOO. This site has up-to-date features on sport, cars, gigs, jokes and has no less than one million hits per month. To effectively manage the contents of this highly dynamic site, Upfront Systems customised an open source system Plone.

The website of Heat magazine is another recently completed project. Heat mainly features the latest local and international gossip news, which is updated daily. As with ZOO, we customised Plone to manage the contents of the site.

Blogging is an important feature of both these websites. Users constantly interact with one another, making use of a wide variety of media types in their messages, including video and flash animation. The popularity of these sites proves that this fast-developing technology is no longer elitist in nature, but used and accessed by young and old in every possible field of interest.
