ZOO (2007)

ZOO is a high traffic media site with features on sport, cars, gigs, jokes and many more. The site has more than one million hits per month. The ZOO website is a perfect example of the blogging trend that has taken the world by storm. The users of the site are constantly interacting, creating a live community that gives comments on the editorials on the site. The ZOO site features every possible media type (i.e. photos, video and flash animation) and has a trendy design. Sites like these prove that technology is no longer elitist in nature, but accessible and usable by anyone.

Praekelt Consulting contracted Upfront Systems to develop an interactive portal for readers of ZOO magazine. We customised an open source content management sytem, built on Plone, to manage the contents of this highly dynamic site effectively.
