SIMpill - SIMpulse

SIMpill provides innovative, proven and affordable solutions to problems experienced by health organisations. Their focus is the use of wireless technology to support people with chronic conditions such as TB and HIV/Aids who have to take their medication as prescribed. This is important as non-compliance regarding taking medication leads to waste in health expenditure, unnecessary morbidity and mortality and resistance to medication.

With the SIMpulse mechanism, people press a speed dial on their cell phone when taking the medication and the event is recorded. If the person forgets to take the medication, a reminder is sent to them via SMS. As an additional option, a reminder can also be sent to a friend/family member to remind the person. The software for SIMpulse is an extension of the SIMpill software.
