METRO FM

METRO FM is a national, urban, contemporary music station, broadcasting in English and has over five million listeners. When it needed to update its web-presence, Praekelt Consulting contracted Hello Computer to do the design and Upfront Systems to build the site which includes an administrative interface and CMS for the site contents.

The portal contains news items, DJ blogs, a Top 40, galleries, wallpaper downloads, competitions, visitor's comments, live audio streaming etc. Development was done in Python, Zope and Plone.

The site went live in December 2007 and has more than 53 000 registered users.
